Delta9   Registered Member #1 Posts: 228 | P-SpecGaming LAN 6 Write Up First off i would like to say thanks to all our sponsors for providing prizes fro the event, the steelseries prizes did not turn up until the day after the event but this was explained to the Counter Strike Source winners who will have the mouse mats sent to them. I would also like to add that our new venue is excellent and can cater to all our needs, we are now able to provide spaces for up to 200 gamers with room for everyone to sleep comfortably. Event Day 1 (Set up & free play) Image: http://www.p-specgaming.co.uk/e107_images/fehwui.png The set up of the network in the new venue went very smooth until it came down to running a 40m network cable from the server area to the router in the store front off the venue. Once all the servers and switches where in place it was time to relax until the attendee's started to turn up. Sadly there were some teams that didn't turn up but this didn't stop us have having fun, once everyone was set up and all games were installed and checked the Counter Strike : Source server was ready to take a good bashing and others played Dawn of War 2. the gaming continued on till late in to the night some people ventured out in to the city center to get some food and some people decided to play guitar hero and some decided to watch films un till everyone decided to go to sleep. Event Day 2 (Free Play) Once everybody started to wake up the Counter Strike : Source server was abused for most of the day once again with smaller groups playing H.A.W.X and Modern Warfare 2. We decided to hold off the competitions until the Sunday as we were waiting for the last of the teams to turn up but sadly they didn't turn up so we continued on with the free play gaming throughout the night as the gaming died down we set up the projector and watched a film. Event Day 3 (Competitions and free play) We started the day with a little free play gaming until everyone was ready to start the competitions. The first competition was Command & Conquer 3 tiberium Wars we run a 1v1 elimination this was a really fun competition to watch everyone got steamrolled by the same player ( FuZ ) who seem to been a very experienced RTS player as a prize he choose one of the sandberg headsets. Once the Command &Conquer 3 competition was over we started to organize the counter strike : source 5v5 sadly some people had to leave early so we decided to condense the team down to 2 larger teams for a bigger faster paced game. This was a very exciting game the first round was very close but the winning team pulled away in the second round and took the game. The counter strike winners received a bumper pack of smaller prizes and were informed that the SteelSeries Mouse mats would be sent out to them once received. the reaming prizes were handed out at random and it turned out that every attendee had a prize to take home. All in all the LAN went very well and every one was very happy with the new venue we have already set the dates for our next event ( 16th to 18th July) and we aim to make our next LAN event much bigger. Sadly during this event i was running around back and forth so much we didn't manage to get a huge amount of pictures. the pictures we have can be found here [ Edited Sat May 15 2010, 10:02PM ]  | ||

you can use any rad you want as long as your can get fittings for it, and being able to mount a fan to it would be handy so you mingt need to get brackets

if you are happy with your current temps i wouldnt bother, and if you want to upgrade to 1/2" i would consider a high flow waterblock too
