(Don't forget XP only uses 4 gig total (inc. graphics memory) How about replacing the memory you spec'ed for 2 gig of Crucail Ballistix or the tracer ram they have? Maybe even the Crosshair/SLI certified ram? Chunks ![]() ![]() ../...... /_ /./../../|./../_/../__.... Oh, and by the way... ./__.../../../_/../.|/../.|...___/... YOU'RE WELCOME

![]() Registered Member #16 Posts: 22 | you can never have too much memmory, but if you wanna make full use, u r fonna need the 64 bit version and the best version of vista is the 64 bit version, i been using it for the last 6 months and loves it, and it works a dram with 8gb of ram and if you not in a rush it probably worth holding out for a new graphics card, as nvidia and ati both due to release in a little while. Delta9![]() ![]() Registered Member #1 Posts: 228 | Also if you have the extra cash and the will to do it. if you really wantto go quad core you would be better off going for one of the newer 45nm quad core chips, but there isnt much actually on the market that makes the full use of a quad core atm (they are always nice to have tho ) it would also be a good idea to wait on the quad core for a while and get a intel core 2 duo E8500 this is a excellent chip.Welcome to the P-SpecGaming webby to you and marlb ![]()

BTW, how do you find the driver situation with v64 bit? ![]() ![]() ../...... /_ /./../../|./../_/../__.... Oh, and by the way... ./__.../../../_/../.|/../.|...___/... YOU'RE WELCOME

![]() Registered Member #17 Posts: 2 | Hey - thanks for the comments guys! @Chunky - Would this be worth the money? (SLI certified RAM) - http://www.ebuyer.com/product/138561 @marlb - I was going to use a 64 bit OS although Chunky told me the driver support was a bit pants and it wasn't really worth the hassle. @Delta9 - I don't have that much extra cash unfortunately but it'll be something to consider as the prices drop! Thanks for the welcome btw =) Cheers! Kyle

MarlB? sorry for the delay, vista 64 driver support is as excelent, much better than xp 64 which is still pretty much unsupported, if you are going vista then 64 is the only way to go. Delta9 21 Jun : 16:21
you can use any rad you want as long as your can get fittings for it, and being able to mount a fan to it would be handy so you mingt need to get brackets
jcb121 15 Jun : 00:18

if you are happy with your current temps i wouldnt bother, and if you want to upgrade to 1/2" i would consider a high flow waterblock too
jcb121 06 Jun : 21:37
@delta9, it would cost £20 to change my WC setup from 3/8" to 1/2" ID,
would it be worth it?
